St Paul’s Primary School Achieve UN Award

St Paul’s Primary School Achieve UN Award

St Paul’s Primary School, Belfast, was awarded the Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) in June 2015. This is an international award presented by UNICEF which recognises schools that have put the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of their planning, policies, practice and ethos.

The principal, Cathal O’Doherty, said “RRSA has been expertly led by staff and everyone has enthusiastically embraced the journey; I can think of no other programme that better reflects the caring ethos of our school”.

“I would like to congratulate everyone involved at St Paul’s Primary School in achieving the RRSA” said Carol Weatherall, EA Belfast Region. “A lot of effort is involved in achieving the RRSA but it is very worthwhile and it is a fantastic way of inspiring children and young people to make informed choices and to become confident, active citizens.”
