Library Services
Belfast Education and Library Board provides a library service
for everyone who lives, works, attends school or undertakes
courses or study within the area. The library also welcomes
visitors to the city.
The service is delivered through:
- Belfast Central Library and 20 community libraries
- 2 mobile libraries
- A homes van, which visits sheltered dwellings and homes
in Belfast
- An outreach service for people with disabilities
- Schools Library Service

is a service of the five education and library boards and
through it you can:
- search the catalogue of public library stock held in
Northern Ireland
- request items
- renew your loans
- find other useful information websites
- ask for help with queries

staff, more and better accommodation and more and better resources
if they are to achieve their full potential in supporting
learning in the school. These are the main findings of research
commissioned by the Association of Chief Librarians and funded
