Delamont Outdoor Education Centre is operated by the Belfast Education and Library Board. The centre is situated within the 300 acre Delamont Country Park, on the shores of Strangford Lough, 2 kilometres SW of the village of Killyleagh.

Delamont currently has the capacity to accommodate up to 30+ students plus accompanying staff. Students are accommodated in bedrooms varying in size from two to six students and staff in single or double rooms.

Delamont offers a wide variety of courses to meet the needs of both young people and adults from within the Belfast Education and Library Board area :

  • Many schools will use the centre mid week for wide ranging programmes including Induction to new groups, GCSE and ‘A’ Level physical education along with geography and biology field work and team building etc
  • Youth groups fill most weekends and all of the summer with training courses for both members and staff, and activity programmes for young people.
  • Both schools and youth groups use the centre’s expertise in delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The centre’s instructors will consult with visiting staff to design programmes that will achieve most of a group’s desired objectives from the following list of activities :

  • Abseiling
  • Adventure Walk
  • Archery
