Congratulations on successfully completing your Induction and welcome to Early Professional development (EPD).  The EPD stage normally takes two years to complete but it may take a little longer if you are in temporary employment.  It is important that you register online using the above link for each year of the EPD programme with the Northern Ireland Education and Library Boards (BELB, NEELB, SELB, WELB) whether in full-time employment, temporary employment, teaching on a day to day basis or not currently in post.

Registration can be completed at any stage during the year but preferably in August or early in September or as soon as possible thereafter.

If your employment circumstances change during the year it is important that you keep us informed in the following way so that your details remain up-to-date and accurate on our systems e.g.

  • If you have initially registered as ‘not in post’ with the Education and Library Board in which you live and then get a post in a school in the same ELB area, then you should notify the Induction/EPD Admin Support Officer so that she can amend your details on the online database
  • If you have initially registered as ‘not in post’ with the Education and Library Board in which you live and then get a post in a school in a different ELB area, then you should notify the Induction/EPD Admin Support Officer in your home ELB area accordingly.
You should also reregister on the online system with the Education and Library Board in which you will now be working
  • If you have already registered as being ‘in post’ and then leave that school to take up a position in another school in the same ELB and Library Board area, then you should inform the Induction/EPD Admin Support Officer in that ELB area so that she can amend your details on the online database
  • If you have initially registered as ‘in post’ with one Education and Library Board and then get a post in a school in a different ELB area, then you should notify the Induction/EPD Admin Support Officer in the ELB area you are leaving.
You should also reregister on the online system with the Education and Library Board to which you will be moving to
